NY Empire FC Youth Kicks Off First Training Session Ahead of Donosti Cup

NY Empire FC Youth launched its first official training session with energy and excitement as all eight teams took to the field to begin preparations for the prestigious Donosti Cup in Spain this summer.

The atmosphere was intense and focused, with coaches delivering high-level sessions designed to challenge players and raise standards across every age group. Each team worked through technical drills, tactical exercises, and competitive scenarios, setting the tone for what promises to be a demanding and rewarding training cycle.

Adding to the excitement were special guest appearances from Conor McGlynn, professional player for Westchester Soccer Club, and Thalia Morisi, captain of the University of Kentucky women’s soccer team. Both athletes spoke to the kids, sharing insights from their own journeys, offering advice on development, and emphasizing the importance of hard work, discipline, and belief in yourself. Their presence provided inspiration and motivation for the young players as they chase their own goals.

Director of Coaching Max Ferro officially welcomed the players and families, expressing his enthusiasm for the program and the upcoming international competition. Ferro was highly impressed with the talent level on display, noting the commitment, skill, and attitude shown across all eight teams.

“This is a special group,” Ferro said. “The level of talent and dedication we’re seeing already is exciting. With the right preparation, these players are going to represent NY Empire FC with pride in Spain.”

With the Donosti Cup on the horizon, the first session marked the beginning of an important journey for the club. If the intensity and focus shown on day one are any indication, NY Empire FC Youth is well on its way to making a strong impression on the international stage this summer.
