Inside the IberCup Sao Paulo

Brazil 2027 will bring Empire to one of IberCup’s international youth soccer tournaments in São Paulo.

Founded in 2010, IberCup was created to bring young players from different countries, cultures and soccer backgrounds together through international competition. Its tournaments have welcomed more than 80,000 players from over 50 countries.

For Empire players, that means stepping outside the familiar.

They will face opponents who may play faster, more physically or with a completely different style than the teams they see every weekend at home. Every game will ask them to adapt, communicate and compete with confidence.

That challenge is exactly why we travel.

The tournament brings together age groups playing multiple formats, including 7v7, 9v9 and 11v11 competition. Previous São Paulo editions have included Brazilian clubs and academies from throughout the region, giving visiting teams the opportunity to measure themselves against players raised inside one of the world’s richest soccer cultures.

For 2027, IberCup is also expanding its focus on the girls game. Its São Paulo Girls Special Edition is scheduled during the FIFA Women’s World Cup and is designed to bring girls teams and academies from around the world together during a historic moment for women’s soccer.

The games will be competitive, but the experience is bigger than the standings.

Players will trade the comfort of familiar fields for a new country, new opponents and the responsibility of representing Empire internationally. They will share the experience with teammates, meet players from other parts of the world and return home with a clearer understanding of how large the game truly is.

This is not just another weekend tournament. It is a chance to see where Empire belongs on the international stage.
