NY Empire FC ISX hosted its highly anticipated Youth Media Day this weekend at Portledge School, bringing together more than 100 players for a day of professional spotlight, inspiration, and celebration of the club’s growing international ambitions.

The event transformed the Portledge School Gymnasim into a full-scale media hub, where every participating athlete received professional individual photographs and sat down for on-camera interviews with the NY Empire FC media team. For many of the players, it was their first experience in a professional media environment—an important step in preparing them for the next level of competitive soccer.

Special Guests Inspire the Next Generation
Players were treated to two powerful guest speakers who shared real-world insight from both the athletic and digital sides of the modern game.
Anthony Herbert, professional soccer player, spoke to the group about his personal journey through youth soccer, college, and the professional ranks. His message of resilience, dedication, and belief in one’s craft resonated deeply with the young athletes.

Following Herbert, social media icon Travis Forsythe, known globally as “itekkers,” delivered an engaging session about the importance of building a positive digital presence. He explained how social media can be a powerful tool for athletes to showcase their development, connect with opportunities, and inspire others.

Eyes on Spain: Donosti Cup Bound
Adding to the day’s excitement, NY Empire FC ISX highlighted the club’s upcoming international competition plans. Eight teams from the organization will be heading to Spain next summer to compete in the world-renowned Donosti Cup—one of the largest and most prestigious youth soccer tournaments in Europe.
The Media Day served as an early milestone in preparing the players for the global stage, both on the field and in front of the camera.

Leadership Reflections
NY Empire FC ISX Director of Coaching, Max Ferro, expressed tremendous pride in the event’s success:
“Seeing our players celebrated in such a professional environment is incredible. Media Day reflects the standards we set as a club—developing complete athletes on and off the field. I’m extremely proud of our players, coaches, and staff.”

Co-Founder and Partner Rob Mannino added:
“This day represents who we are: a club committed to opportunity, development, and exposure. Watching our young athletes light up during interviews and photos was amazing. We’re building something special at NY Empire FC.”

Coaches from across the program were also in attendance, supporting players, participating in interviews, and contributing to the high-energy, family-friendly atmosphere.

A Club Moving Forward
NY Empire FC ISX Youth Media Day was more than a showcase—it was a celebration of community, culture, and the future of the club. With professional photos, media training, inspirational guest speakers, and international competition on the horizon, the 2025 season is shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet for the Empire family.
